Furthering women's soccer like no magazine has done before

Alliance FC no longer part of Women’s Major League Soccer

Women’s Major League Soccer (WMLS) is scheduled to kick off its inaugural season in May with eight teams, but one of the teams has withdrawn from the league. In an email, Alliance FC Manager Abrahm Shearer told Our Game Magazine, “Unfortunately, we are not taking part in the league this year.” Shearer didn’t offer any further explanation.

Alliance FC is still listed on the WMLS website, along with seven other teams – Chicago Breeze, Cleveland Internationals, FC Indiana, Fort Wayne SC, Louisville, Springfield Demize, and South Bend WFC. The season is scheduled to begin May 15. WMLS, a regional league in the Midwest, and it is, “an elite promotion/relegation women’s soccer league,” according to its website.

What a shame that one team is out of the league before the season has begun!
