Germany National Team forward and veteran Martina Müller extended her contract with VfL Wolfsburg by two years. Müller joined Wolfsburg in 2005 and has been a constant top striker since. The 30-year-old is signed until June 2013. Also adding one more year with her present club is national team backup goalkeeper Lisa Weiss. The 23-year-old has been competing for SG Essen-Schönebeck since 2007.

For the entire second half of the season, it was a close race between Potsdam and Frankfurt. Now on the final matchday, Turbine Potsdam needed a win against Essen to securely clinch the championship. 1.FFC Frankfurt did their part against Bayern Munich and took an early lead by Svenja Huth in the sixth minute, even added a second goal by American Gina Lewandowski, and profited from an own goal for a 3-0 lead after only 12 minutes. With a point Saturday afternoon in its match against FCR Duisburg, 1. FFC Frankfurt would’ve moved into first place, but a goal scored just past the 70-minute mark by Inka Grings, her 350th Bundesliga goal, gave Duisburg the win. This make-up game between the second and third-place teams in Bundesliga was scoreless at the half. With the three points, Duisburg now has 38 points, one point behind Frankfurt and two points off the pace of first-place Potsdam.
